Hackers break into Big Bang experiment

Efforts to recreate the Big Bang theory at Cern hit its first roadblock, with scientists admitting that their experiment was hacked into by maverick hackers.

The hackers reportedly mounted an attack on the Large Hadron Collider, which has raised eyebrows over the security of this historic experiment in the world, as it surpasses a vital milestone.

Scientists say that it was a competition between two hacker groups – known in hacking circles as 2600 and 1337, that led them to break into the experiment just before it was to begin.

2600, also known as the Greek Security Team broke into the experiment and left a message saying, “We are 2600.. don’t mess with us…” The scientists who were behind the mammoth experiment had received threatening emails prior to the start.

No real damage done, but the hackers got perilously close. The hackers attacked the Compact Muon Solenoid Experiment, or CMS.

Scientists working at Cern, the organisation that runs the vast smasher, were worried about what the hackers could do because they were “one step away” from the computer control system of one of the huge detectors of the machine, a vast magnet that weighs 12,500 tons, measuring around 21 metres in length and 15 metres wide.

If they had hacked into a second computer network, they could have turned off parts of the vast detector and, said the insider, “it is hard enough to make these things work if no one is messing with it.”

Fortunately, only one file was damaged but one of the scientists firing off emails as the CMS team fought off the hackers said it was a “scary experience”. The hackers breached the CMSMON system, which monitors the CMS software system. CMS takes vast amounts of data during collisions.

રચનાનો વિચારણીય સંદેશ

સાક્ષાત્ પરબ્રહ્મસ્વરૂપ ગજાનન સર્વ દેવગણ અને ધર્મપ્રેમીઓ માટે સન્માનીય દેવ છે. ગણપતિની પ્રથમ વંદના વિના કોઈ પણ કાર્ય-આયોજન નિર્વિઘ્ને પાર પડી શકે નહીં. ગણપતિને રાજી કર્યા વિના કોઈનું કલ્યાણ પણ સંભવ નથી તેવો મહાપ્રતાપ ઉમા અને શિવજીના આ પુત્ર ધરાવે છે. ગણનો અર્થ સમૂહ, વર્ગ, સંપ્રદાય જેવો થાય છે અને ઇશનો અર્થ સ્વામી થાય છે. આમ દેવગણ અને શિવગણોના સ્વામી એટલે જ ગણેશ. ગણ નામના દૈત્યનો નાશ કરવાથી તેઓ ગણેશ કહેવાય તેમ પણ કેટલીક પૌરાણિક કથાઓ કહે છે. ગણપતિના શરીરની વિલક્ષણ રચના પણ વિચારણીય સંદેશ આપે છે.

ગજમસ્તક : વિશાળ અને પહોળું લલાટ બુદ્ધિમતા અને વિવેકશીલતાનો પરિચય આપે છે. એટલા માટે જ ઋષિ વેદવ્યાસે તેમના મહાભારત ગ્રંથની રચનામાં ગણપતિની સહાય લીધી હતી. કોઈ પણ મુદ્દાની ગ્રાહ્યતાની તેમની શક્તિ ગજબની હતી તેથી જ તેઓ ગ્રંથલેખન માટે ઋષિ સામે શરત મૂકી શક્યા હતા.

દીર્ઘનાસિકા : પોતાના માન-ગૌરવના પ્રતીક સમાન ‘નાક’ની જાળવણી માટે કશું પણ ત્યાગવું પડે તેની ચિંતા ના કરશો. પોતાની અને રાષ્ટ્રની માનમર્યાદા સદૈવ જાળવી રાખો તેવો સંદેશ ગણપતિની દીર્ઘનાસિકા આપે છે.

ગજકર્ણકાય : વિશાળ કાન શ્રવણ અને મનનનો સંદેશ આપે છે. નાનું-મોટું હોય તે બધુંજ સાંભળો અને ગ્રહણયોગ્યને પાસે રાખી તેનું મનન કરો. નાની આંખો દૂરદર્શિતાનુંપ્રદર્શન કરે છે. આંખો વિશાળ અને મોહક ન હોય તો ચાલે, પણ દૂરનું જોઈ-વિચારી શકે તેવી જરૂર હોવી જોઈએ.

લંબોદરાય એટલે કે વિશાળ પેટના બનો. છીછરા રહેશો નહીં. માન હોય કે અપમાન પેટમાં ઉતારી જાઓ અને સંતોષી રહો. મોદક એટલે લાડુ તો મીઠાશનું પ્રતીક છે. સર્વજન સાથે મીઠાશ ફેલાવી શકશો તેવો સંદેશ મોદકપ્રિય ગણપતિ આપે છે.

ગણપતિના હાથમાં કમળનું પુષ્પ છે જે સ્નેહ અને સુવાસનું પ્રતીક છે. તો બીજા હાથમાં શસ્ત્ર છે. આવશ્યકતા અનુસાર શસ્ત્રને ઉઠાવવામાં પાછીપાની કરશો નહીં. શત્રુને હણવામાં અને પ્રજાના રક્ષણમાં શસ્ત્ર ઉઠાવવાં જરૂરી છે. એક હાથમાં લેખિની છે જે બુદ્ધિમતા અને જ્ઞાનનું પ્રતીક છે. પ્રજામાં જ્ઞાન અને સાક્ષરતાનો પ્રસાર કરશો તો સમજણ અને સામાન્ય બુદ્ધિ પણ તેમનામાં આવશે.

મૂષક વાહન: ગણપતિ આટલા વિશાળકાય અને મૂષક એટલે ઊંમદર, બંને વિરોધાભાસી છે. મૂષક ગણપતિનો ભાર ઝીલી શકે નહીં તે દેખીતી વાત છે, પરંતુ તેમનું વાહન એક પ્રતીક છે. વિશાળકાય હોવા છતાં તમારો ભાર અદના પ્રજાજનને લાગે નહીં તેવું વર્તન રાખો. કોઈ પણ વિરોધાભાસમાં સમતા જાળવી રાખશો તો મૂષક જેટલી ચપળતા દર્શાવી શકશો. મૂષકનું પ્રતીક ડહાપણનું છે. ડહાપણ પર સવાર થતા શીખો, ક્રોધ પર સવાર થશો નહીં. નાના માનવી સાથે પણ તાદાત્મ્ય જાળવવામાં તમારી મોટાઈને વચમાં લાવશો નહીં તેમ ગણપતિ પોતાના વાહનની પસંદગી દ્વારા સૂચવે છે. સંસારમાં નાનામાં નાના જીવનું મહત્ત્વ છે. ભગવાન શ્રીરામે ખિસકોલીને મહત્ત્વ આપ્યું છે તે જ રીતે ગણપતિએ ઊંદરને સ્થાન આપ્યું છે.

ગણપતિનું પૂજન એટલે જ પરમેશ્વરનું પૂજન. એકચિત્ત થઈ માનવી ગણેશ-ગજાનનની આરાધનામાં પ્રવૃત્ત થાય તેની બુદ્ધિ પણ શાંત અને ધીરગંભીર થાય છે. કોઈ પણ પ્રકારનું વિઘ્ન અથવા ઉદ્વેગ શાંત થઈ સ્વત: રિદ્ધિ-સિદ્ધિમાં ફેરવાઈ જાય છે તે માત્ર ગણપતિની આરાધનાનું ફળ છે. ગણપતિના અસંખ્ય નામોમાંથી માત્ર ૧૨ નામો સાથે તેમને લીલુંછમ ઘાસ ચડાવાય તેટલાથી પણ તેઓ પ્રસન્ન થઈ જાય છે.

સુમુખાય નમ:, એકદંતાય નમ:, કપિલાય નમ:, ગુજકર્ણાય નમ:, લમ્બોદરાય નમ:, વિકટાય નમ:, વિઘ્ન વિનાશાય નમ:, ધૂમકેતવે નમ:, ગણાધ્યક્ષાય નમ:, ભાલચંદ્રાય નમ:, ગજાનનાય નમ: જેવાં બાર નામોના પાઠથી પણ ગણપતિ પ્રસન્ન થાય છે. આ ઉપરાંત ‘ઓમ ગં ગણપતયૈ નમ:’ અથવા ‘ઓમ તત્ત્પુરુષાયવિઇહે વક્રતુંડાય ધીમહિ તન્નો દન્તી પ્રચોદયાત્’ના મંત્રનો નિરંતર જાપ કરવાથી ભગવાન ગજાનન ઋણ, રોગ, દારિદ્રય, રાજ્યભય, આતંક સહિત તમામ આધિ-વ્યાધિથી મુક્ત કરાવી રિદ્ધિ-સિદ્ધિ અને વિલક્ષણ બુદ્ધિ પ્રદાન કરે છે.

ભગવાન ગણેશનો જન્મ ભાદરવાના શુક્લ પક્ષની ચતુર્થીએ થયો હોવાનું મનાય છે અને તેથી જ આ દિવસથી ગણેશોત્સવનો આરંભ થાય છે, જે અનંત ચૌદશના દિવસે પૂર્ણ થાય છે. એક અન્ય માન્યતા અનુસાર માતા પાર્વતી દ્વારા ગણપતિનો સર્વ પ્રથમ આવિર્ભાવ મહા માસના કૃષ્ણ પક્ષની ચતુર્થીઓ થયો હતો. આ તિથિને સંકટ તિથિ તરીકે ઓળખવામાં આવે છે. પ્રત્યેક મહિનાના શુક્લ પક્ષની ચતુર્થી વિનાયક ચતુર્થી તરીકે ઓળખાય છે.

સ્કંદ પુરાણમાં શ્રીકૃષ્ણ અને યુધિષ્ઠિરના સંવાદ અનુસાર ભાદરવાના શુક્લ પક્ષની ચોથનો મહિમા વિશેષ છે. આ દિવસે ભગવાન ગણેશની આરાધનાથી તેઓ પોતાના ભક્તોને સમસ્ત કાર્યોમાં સફળતા અપાવે છે. ગણપતિના ગુણોના પ્રતીકને જીવનમાં ઉતારવાથી તો આપોઆપ સિદ્ધિ સાંપડે છે. આવા સિદ્ધિવિનાયક દેવ ગણપતિને નમસ્કાર કરી તેમની ઉપાસના કરીએ.

* વધારે પ્રમાણ માં ખવાયેલું મીઠું આંખનાં, ચામડીનાં અને લોહીવિકારનાં રોગો કરે છે.
* વધારે પ્રમાણમાં ખવાયેલું દહીં શરીરનાં સ્ત્રોતોનો અવરોધ કરીને કબજીયાત, લોહી વિકાર, ચામડીનાં રોગો અને સોજા લાવે છે.

* વધુ પ્રમાણમાં પિવાયેલા ચા અને બીડી- સિગારેટ ભૂખને મારી નાંખે છે અને ફેફસાંને નબળાં કરે છે. દાંતને નુકશાન કરે છે, ઊંઘને ઓછી કરે છે.
* વધુ પ્રમાણમાં ખવાયેલ જાંબુ પેટમાં પુષ્કળ વાયુ કરે છે કબજિયાત કરે છે, આંચકી પણ લાવે છે.
* બરફની બનાવટોનું વધું પડતું સેવન શરીરની પાચનક્ષમતા ઓછી કરે છે (મંદાગ્નિ કરે છે), કાયમી શરદી અને કાકડા વધવાના રોગો પેદા કરે છે.
* વધારે પ્રમાણમાં ખવાતાં અડદ એ બુદ્ધિને મંદ કરે છે.
* વધુ પ્રમાણમાં ખવાતાં વેજીટેબલ ઘી હ્રદયનાં, પાચનનાં, શ્વસનનાં અને રૂધિરાભિષરણતંત્રના રોગો પેદાં કરે છે.
* વધું પ્રમાણમાં ખવાતી સોપારી ગળાનાં અને ફેંફસાનાં રોગો કરે છે અને લોહીનું પાણી કરે છે, અર્થાત તે શરીરમાં લોહીનો જથ્થો અને ગુણવત્તા ઘટાડી દે છે.

શ્રી ગણેશજીને ખૂબ જ પ્રિય ‘વરદા’ ચતુર્થીની (ચોથ) પવિત્ર કથા નીચે પ્રમાણે છે. સૃષ્ટિ ઉત્પન્ન કરીને બ્રહ્માજીએ અનેક કાર્યોની સફળતા માટે પોતાના હૃદયમાં શ્રીગણેશજીનું ધ્યાન ધર્યું. એ વખતે એમના શરીરમાંથી તીથિઓની માતારૂપ ‘ચોથ’ દેવી રૂપે પ્રકટ થઇ. એ અતિ સુકુમાર અને સુંદર દેવીને ચાર પગ, ચાર હાથ અને ચાર મોં હતાં એને જોઇને સૃષ્ટિનાં સર્જનહાર બ્રહ્માજી પરમ પ્રસન્ન થયાં. એ ચતુર્થી દેવીએ બ્રહ્માજીને વંદન કર્યું અને કહ્યું: ‘હે બ્રહ્માજીના સર્જનહાર પિતા, હું આપનાં પવિત્ર શરીરમાંથી ઉત્પન્ન થઇ છું.’ આપ મારા પરમ પિતા છો આપ મને આજ્ઞા આપો, હું શું કરું? આપ મને રહેવાનું સ્થળ અને જરૂરી ભોગ્ય પદાર્થ આપો.” બ્રહ્માજીએ શ્રીગણેશજીનું સ્મરણ કરીને કહ્યું: ‘તમે’ એક અદ્ભુત સૃષ્ટિની રચના કરો. ચતુર્થી દેવીએ પણ ગણેશજીને ભાવપૂર્વક નમન કર્યું.’ એ પછી વનમાં જઇ એ મંત્ર જાપ સાથે તપ કરવા જણાવ્યું. ચતુર્થીદેવીએ અત્યંત શ્રદ્ધાપૂર્વક ગણેશજીના મંત્ર જાપ સાથે એક હજાર દિવ્ય વર્ષ સુધી તપ કર્યું. ચતુર્થીદેવીની આવી ેતપશ્ચર્યાથી પ્રસન્ન થઇ દેવાધિદેવ ગજાનન પ્રકટ થયા અને કહ્યુંં, ‘દેવી, હું તમારી તપશ્ચર્યાથી પ્રસન્ન થયો છું. તમારી જે ઇચ્છા હોય તે વરદાન માગો, ‘ ચતુર્થીદેવીએ પરમ પવિત્ર ગજાનન દેવતાનાં ચરણોમાં નમસ્કાર કર્યાં અને કહ્યું ‘હે વિઘ્ન વિનાશક દેવ! આપ આપની દ્રઢ ભક્તિ આપો. હુું આપને હંમેશા પ્રિય રહું અને મને આપનો કદી વિયોગ ન થાય એવું વરદાન આપો.’ ગણેશજીએ ‘ઓમ’ શબ્દનો ઉચ્ચર કરી માગેલું વરદાન આપ્યું અમને કહ્યું: ‘દેવી તમે મને હંમેશા પ્રિય રહેશો. તમે તમામ તીથિઓની માતા ગણાશો. અને તમારું નામ ‘ચતુર્થી’ દેવી તરીકે જગપ્રસિદ્ધ થશે. તમારા શરીરનું ડાબું અંગ શ્યામ અને જમણું અંગ ઉજ્જવલ હશે. તમે તમારી જન્મતીથિ તરીકે પૂજાશો. તમારું વ્રત કરનારને હું સર્વ વાતે સુખી બનાવીશ અને તમારું વ્રત તમામ વ્રતોમાં શ્રેષ્ઠ લેખાશે. એટલું કહી ગણપતિજી અંતર્ધ્યાન થઇ ગયા. વરદા ચતુર્થી દેવીએ ફરીથી ગજાનન દેવનું ધ્યાન ધર્યું. એટલે એનાં મોંમાંથી પ્રતિપદા (પડવો) તીથિ ઉત્પન્ન થઇ. એ પ્રમાણે નાકમાંથી બીજ, છાતીમાંથી ત્રીજ, આંગળીમાંથી પાંચમ, હૃદયમાંથી છઠ, આંખમાંથી સાતમ, હાથમાંથી આઠમ, પેટમાંથી નોમ, કાનમાંથી દસમ, કંઠમાંથી અગિયારસ, પગમાંથી બારસ, સ્તન મંડળમાંથી તેરસ, અહંકારમાંથી ચૌદશ, મનથી પૂર્ણિમા અને જીભથી અમાવાસ્યા પ્રકટ થઇ. બધી તીથિઓએ સાથે મળી દેવાધિદેવ ગણનાયકનું ધ્યાન ધરવા માંડયું. તપશ્ચર્યાં પણ આરંભી. આમ એક વર્ષની તપશ્ચર્યા પછી ગણાધિપતિ ગજાનન ત્યાં પ્રકટ થયા તેઓ અજવાળિયાની ચોથના દિવસે મધ્યાહ્ન સમયે દેવી ચતુર્થીની પાસે ગયા અને કહ્યું ‘તમારે શું જોઇએ છે, માગો?’ ચતુર્થીદેવીએ વંદન કરીને કહ્યું ‘દેવ! હું આપનું નિવાસસ્થાન બનું અને આપ મને આપની અતૂટ ભક્તિ આપો. ગજાનન દેવે વરદાન આપતાં કહ્યું, ‘મારા ભક્તજનો ભાદ્રપદ માસની સુદ ચોથના દિવસે ભાવપૂર્વક તમારું વ્રત કરશે. આજથી તમારું નામ ‘વરદા’ રાખું છું.’ ત્યાર પછી ગજાનન દેવે રાત્રે ચંદ્રનો ઉદય થતાં કૃષ્ણ ચતુર્થી પાસે જઇને કહ્યું: તમે પણ ઇચ્છિત વર માગો, હું તમારી અભિલાષા પૂર્ણ કરીશ.’ કૃષ્ણ ચતુર્થીએ મંગલમય ગણેશજીનું પૂજન કરી કહ્યું: ‘વિઘ્નહર! આપ જો મારા પર પ્રસન્ન હો તો કૃપા કરીને મને આપની અચળ ભક્તિ આપો. આપ મને સર્વમાન્ય કરી દો.’ ગણેશજીએ વરદાન આપતાં કહ્યું: ‘દેવી! નિ:સંદેહ મારી કૃપાથી તમે હંમેશા લોકોને આનંદ આપનારાં થશો.’ મહિમામયી ‘ચતુર્થી’નું વ્રત કરનારાંઓની ઇચ્છિત કામનાઓ પાર પડે છે. ધનધાન્ય અને આરોગ્યની પ્રાપ્તિ થાય છે. તમામ આપત્તિઓ નાશ પામે છે. અંધારિયાની તમામ ચોથ દુ:ખ નિવારણ કરવાવાળી છે. એમાં ચંદ્રોદયી ચતુર્થીના વ્રતનું પૂજન કરવાનું મહાત્મ્ય છે.

સંકટ ચતુર્થી ચંદ્રોદય વ્યાપિની ગ્રાહ્ય છે. જો બે દિવસ ચોથ હોય અને બીજા દિવસની ચોથ ચંદ્રોદય વ્યાપિની ન હોય તો બીજે દિવસે કરવું જોઇએ. અગર બંને દિવસે ચોથ ચંદ્રોદય વ્યાપિની ન હોય તો બીજે દિવસે વ્રતનું પાલન કરવું જોઇએ.

મરીઝ (અબ્બાસ વાસી)

એમના ‘આગમન’ નામનાં ગઝલસંગ્રહમાં મરીઝ સ્વયં લખે છે-
“ગઝલ ક્ષેત્રમાં હું મહામહેનતે ગોઠવાયો છું : એક તો ઓછું ભણેલો, ભાષા, વ્યાકરણ અને જોડણીનું
ખાસ જ્ઞાન નહીં, માત્ર ઊર્મિ, સંવેદન, અનુભૂતિ અને અવલોકનનાં બળ પર ગઝલોનું મેં સર્જન કરેલું છે.”
ગુજરાતનાં આટલા મહાન કલાકારની આ કેવી વિનમ્રતા, કેવી નિખાલસતા! તેઓ ગઝલ વિશે કહે છેઃ

હો ગુર્જરીની ઓથ કે ઉર્દૂની ઓ મરીઝ,
ગઝલો ફક્ત લખાય છે દિલની જુબાનમાં.

એ જ માણસ પછી કહી શકે કેઃ

મરણ કે જીવન હો એ બન્ને સ્થિતિમાં,
મરીઝ એક લાચારી કાયમ રહી છે.
જનાજો જશે તો જશે કાંધે કાંધે,
જીવન પણ ગયું છે સહારે સહારે.

જો મેં એમની હયાતીમાં ત્યારે સાંભળ્યો હોત તો કે’તઃ
ક્યા બાત હૈ, મરીઝ! પેન તોડી નાખ, ને પાટી ફેંકી દે. તેં તારી જિંદગીનો આખરી શેર લખી લીધો છે.

પણ આપણાં નસીબ સારાં કે મારી ત્યારે હયાતી નો’તી તે આપણને એમની બીજી કેટલીય સારી સારી
ગઝલો મળી છે! એમાંની એક નીચે પ્રસ્તુત છેઃ

એવો કોઈ દિલદાર જગતમાં નજર આવે,
આપી દે મદદ કિંતુ ન લાચાર બનાવે.

હમદર્દ બની જાય જરા સાથમાં આવે,
આ શું કે બધા દૂરથી રસ્તા જ બતાવે!

શું એને ખબર, કોની નજર પ્યાસી રહી ગઈ?
જે ભેજમાં ચાલે અને પાલવ ન ઉઠાવે.

એ સૌથી વધુ ઉચ્ચ તબક્કો છે મિલનનો,
કહેવાનું ઘણું હો ને કશું યાદ ન આવે.

કોઈ પ્રેમીથી તમારા વાતોની કલા લ્યે,
એક વાત કરે એમાં ઘણી વાત છુપાવે.

રડવાની જરુરત પડે ત્યાં સૂકાં નયન હો,
ને હસતો રહું ત્યાં જ જ્યાં હસવું નહી આવે.

છે મારી મુસીબતનું ‘મરીઝ’ એક આ કારણ,
હું મુજથી રુઠેલો છું, મને કોણ મનાવે?

અશ્વિન મહેતા ઉર્ફે ‘નાની’એ આ ગઝલના ચુનંદા શેરો લઈ એને પોતાના અવાજમાં સરસ રીતે મઢ્યું છે.

શૂન્ય પાલનપૂરી

આજે વાત કરવી છે ગઝલસમ્રાટ શૂન્ય પાલનપૂરીની.

ગઝલ લખવા વિશે શૂન્ય પાલનપુરી કહે છેઃ

દેહના કોડિયે પ્રાણની વાટને લોહીમાં ભીંજવીને જો બાળી શકો,
તો જ પ્રગટી શકે દર્દની મ્હેફિલે દિલને રોશન કરે એવી નૂરે ગઝલ.

શૂન્યનું અસલી નામ અલીખાન બલોચ. શિક્ષક, શાયર અને પત્રકાર તરીકે તો એ ઝળક્યા જ છે; પણ સ્વર્ગસ્થ
શ્રી. ચંદ્રકાંત બક્ષીએ એમની એક આલોચનામાં જણાવ્યા મુજબ અલીખાને જ્યોર્જ ફિફ્થ ક્લ્બમાં વિકેટ કીપિંગ પણ
કર્યું છે! મુસ્લિમ હોવા છતાં હિંદુ અને સંસ્કૃત શબ્દો તથા વિચારશૈલીને કવિતામાં સહેજથી વણી લેતાં.
આજે એમના કાવ્યજીવનમાં જરા ર્ડોકિયું કરીયે. કુછ શેર અર્જ હૈ, જનાબ, મુલાહજા ફર્માઈએ!

ગમ નથી જો આંખ ના લૂછે કોઈ પાલવ હવે,
ધૈર્ય પોતે જાળવે છે દર્દનું ગૌરવ હવે.

ઝુલ્ફ કેરા વળ સમી છે ભાગ્યની ગૂંચો બધી,
માત્ર એને યત્ન કેરી કાંસકી ઓળી શકે.

સભાઓમાં છે શબ્દની બોલબાલા
નથી પૂછતું અર્થનો ભાવ કોઈ
કદર છે મને મારી ગઝલોની એથી
હવે ખુદ લખું છું ને ખુદ સાંભળું છું.

તારો ને મારો મેળ નહીં ખાય ઓ તબીબ,
મુજને પડી દરદની, તને સારવારની.

સમયના ગજથી જેઓ પ્રેમની આવરદા માપે છે,
સદા એ ડાઘુઓ પેઠે જીવનનો પંથ કાપે છે.
અવસ્થા મંચ બદલે તો ફરક ઝાઝો નથી પડતો,
બુઢાપો ગાય છે ગઝલો, જવાની દાદ આપે છે.

મારું હોવું કે ન હોવું દોસ્ત સરખું છે બધું,
બાદબાકી હો કે સરવાળો, ફરક પડશે નહીં.
મુજને ગુણવા ભાગવાની ભૂલથી કોશિશ ન કર,
શૂન્યમાં જે ગુમ થયો એ શોધતાં જડશે નહીં.

કામ તો મરજીવાનું સારું છે, પણ બહુ રંજ આપનારું છે;
મોતી આપ્યાનો હર્ષ છે કિંતુ મોં હજુ પણ ખારું છે.

પહાડો તોડવા પ્રેરે હવે એવા સનમ ક્યાં છે?
વહે નદીઓ કરુણાની હ્રદયમાં એ જખમ ક્યાં છે?
કરે છે બેધડક દાવો અનલહકનો બધા આજે
હવે એ મન્સૂરો ક્યાં છે? એ શૂળીની રસમ ક્યાં છે?

(’અનલહક’ એટલે “I am everything” અથવા “અહમ્ બ્રહ્માસ્મિ”)

ભક્તિ કેરી કાકલૂદી, સ્વાર્થ કેરા જાપ બંધ,
શંખનાદો, ઝાલરો ને બાંગના આલાપ બંધ,
મેં જરા મોટેથી પૂછ્યો પ્રશ્ન કે “હું કોણ છું?”
થઈ ગયા ધર્માલયોના દ્વાર આપોઆપ બંધ.

મારે જોવું’તું અખંડિત દ્ર્શ્ય કિંતુ શું કરું?
આયખાના આયનામાં લાખ તીરાડો હતી.

આંખો ભરીને બેઠી છે દરબાર દર્દનો
દિલમાં કોઈની યાદનો રાજ્યાભિષેક છે.

અને હવે છેલ્લે, એમની એક આખી ગઝલ માણીયેઃ

જગે અર્પણ કર્યા કાંટા, કશું વિપરિત વિચારીને
અમે એના વડે કીધી સુરક્ષિત પ્રાણ-ક્યારીને

તમે ચાલ્યા ગયા સુની કરી દિલની અટારીને
અમે સ્થાપી છે ત્યાં મૂર્તિ સ્વરુપે ઈંતેજારીને

કરો હદથી વધુ મંથન, હળાહળ દે છે રત્નાકર
વિપદ ના વ્હોરજો, સંસારમાં તૃષ્ણા વધારીને

ગુલામી ગઈ કિનારાની, દિશાના બંધનો છૂટ્યાં
અમે નાથ્યો સમંદર, નાવ મજધારે ઉતારીને

નથી બાકી પ્રભુ પાસે, હવે મૌલિક સમું કૈં પણ
કરે છે પેશ, એના એ જ સૌ સર્જન મઠારીને

Ayurveda – Harmony of Body, Mind And Soul

આયુર્વેદ એટલે માનવીના સ્વાસ્થ્યની કાળજી લેતું પ્રાચીન શાસ્ત્ર. આયુર્વેદના પાયાના બે સિદ્ધાંતોમાંનો પ્રથમ એટલે “स्वस्थस्य स्वास्थ्य रक्षणम – ” સ્વસ્થ માણસના સ્વાસ્થ્યનું રક્ષણ કરવું.” તેથી આયુર્વેદ એવી ચિકિત્સ પદ્ધતિમાં માને છે કે જે કુદરતી રીતે માણસના શરીરમાં રોગપ્રતિકારક શકિત (Immunity Power) વધારે અને માંદગી જ ન આવવા દે. શરીરમાં રોગના જીવાણુઓ પ્રવેશે જ નહિ તેવું મજબૂત શરીર બનાવે છે. એટલે જ જૂનાકાળના લોકોને માંદગીનો ઘણો ઓછો અનુભવ હતો.!! અને, કદાચ જો માંદગી આવે, તો આયુર્વેદના બીજા સિદ્ધાંત ” आतुरस्य विकार प्रशमनम् ।” – “રોગીનો રોગ દૂર કરવો” પ્રમાણે ચિકિત્સા કરે છે. અને માણસ પુનઃ સ્વાસ્થ્ય આપે છે. ‘અથર્વ આયુર્વેદ કિલનિક’ માં આયુર્વેદના આ બંને સિદ્ધાંતોને સાકાર કરવાનો સુંદ પ્રયત્ન કરી રહ્યું છે. જેની ચિકિત્સા પદ્ધતિમાં પ્રાચિનતા અને આધુનિકતાનો (computerised) સમન્વય છે.

મૃગજળ

સૂર્યોદયની આશમાં ઊગતો રહ્યો,
સૂર્યમુખી જયમ પછી ઝૂકતો રહ્યો.

સંબંધોના મૃગજળમાં ડૂબતો રહ્યો,
કિનારે એમ કળણમાં ખૂંપતો રહ્યો.

ચાંદનીના તાપમાં તપતો રહ્યો,
પડછાયાને છાંયાનું પૂછતો રહ્યો.

રણમાં કો’ ઝાડવાંને શોધતો રહ્યો,
મંઝિલને વિસામાનું કહેતો રહ્યો.

શબ્દોના ઝાકળમાં વહેતો રહ્યો
કાળના એ પ્રવાહને સહેતો રહ્યો.

એકલતાની ભીડે ટોળું શોધે,
તારી યાદોના બસ પડઘા જ મળે.

ઝીલી આખો દરિયો આંખો વરસે,
કોરાધાકોર વળી સપના તરસે.

છું કેક્ટસ ન વસંત ન પાનખર નડે,
વરસે જો ઝાકળના બિંદુ જ અડે.

ચાહું બસ કે મંઝિલ હમસફર બને,
સફર કદી તો થોડી આસાન બને.

ન કલમ કે શાહી ન શબ્દો કે છંદો,
ગઝલ લખે દિલ આંસુ કાગળ સારે.

In a post on IE blog, Jane Maliouta, a Microsoft programme manager, said that if users download and install IE8 beta 1 prior to updating Windows XP to SP3, they may be stuck with both IE8 and Windows XP SP3. The only time we encourage you to manually uninstall Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 prior to upgrading to IE8 beta 2 for Windows XP users is if you happened to install Windows XP SP3 after installing IE8 beta 1,” said Maliouta.

A warning dialog will appear to alert users. “Are you sure you want to continue installing Internet Explorer 8? Setup has detected that you’ve installed a new service pack for your operating system since installing a previous version of Internet Explorer 8. After completing this installation, you will not be able to uninstall Internet Explorer 8.”

Maliouta said that if users choose to continue, Windows XP SP3 and IE8 beta 2 will become permanent. They will still be able to upgrade to later IE8 builds as they become available, but they won’t be able to uninstall them.

She recommends that users instead first uninstall Windows XP SP3, then uninstall IE8 beta 1; they should then reinstall XP SP3 and follow that by installing IE8 beta 2.

Windows XP users who do have the first beta already on their machines will be offered the update to beta 2 via Windows Update if they have Automatic Updates enabled, Maliouta continued. “A prompt in your Windows task bar will alert you when IE8 beta 2 is ready for installation,” she said.

Microsoft has also released a list of IE8 beta 2 known issues.

Incidentally, of the nine applications called out as incompatible with the new IE8, the only two that will lock up and crash are Microsoft’s.

Visual Studio .Net Version 7, said Microsoft will crash on a PC that also contains IE8 beta 2. “No workaround is currently available,” Microsoft said in the release notes.

The other Microsoft incompatible application is Windows Live Mail, formerly called Windows Live Desktop, and the desktop mail client meant to replace Outlook Express and Windows Mail.

“If you install Internet Explorer 8 beta 2, Windows Live Mail will crash when you create or reply to an email message,” Microsoft warned.

Interestingly, Microsoft had issued a similar warning to users in May this year, during Windows XP SP3 release. During that time the company told users they wouldn’t be able to downgrade from IE7 to the older IE6 browser without uninstalling the service pack.

The most sought-after gadget of all times, Apple’s all-new 3G iPhone had a dream launch. The iPhone 2.0 which saw a global launch on July 11 sold one million 3G iPhones around the world over the weekend. However, still there are many in the tribe, with no offence meant, who would still not know the smart shortcuts that it offers. These nifty shortcuts to several applications lets users do a world of things, like double tapping on your iPhone Home Button can wake up the sleeping iPhone. Similarly, double tapping from the ‘Slide to unlock” icon always brings up the iPod controls, so the user can control his iPod without even unlocking the phone.

• Headphone button
  Do you know that small button on the built-in microphone in your iPhone’s headphone serves several functions. Like, when a user gets a call all he needs to do is press it once to answer the call, press it twice to send it to voice mail and press once again to disconnect the call.
  And when the phone is not in call all he needs to do is just press once to activate the iPod, and press again to pause the song and similarly press twice to move to the next track.
• Shortcut to Favourites
  Again, a user can use the Home button to create a shortcut to his Favourite listing on iPhone. What exactly the setting does is that when a user double taps on the Home button, his list of Favourite people to call will be displayed.
  To get this, the user just needs to follow some simple instructions. Start with the home screen and then proceed to the Settings. In Settings the user needs to select the General option and from there select the Home Button option. In Home Button, he again needs to tap the option that reads Phone Favourite so that it is check marked.
  This way, every time a user double taps the iPhone’s Home button in quick succession, his phone Favourites will appear.
• Home Button for iPod
  You can also use the Home button to control your iPod features in iPhone. A double tap on the Home button will take a user straight to his music collection. For this, all that a user needs to do is go to Settings from the Home screen, and choose the General option. From the General option the user requires to choose the Home Button and then tap the option that reads iPod so that there is a checkmark next to it.
  Now, each time the user double taps the iPhone’s Home button in quick succession, his music list will appear.
• Self correction
  Here’s a cool shortcut for that virtual keyboard on your iPhone. Made an error while typing that SMS, then the tiny on-screen keys beneath the word you typed, will provide a alternative word (just like typing in dictionary mode on most phones) replacement in a tiny bubble. The software analyses the letters around the one a user types and figures out what he really meant to type.
  In case a user wants to accept the suggestion, he just needs to tap the Space bar. And to ignore the suggestion he has to keep on typing or tap it with his finger. The suggestion feature also kicks in when the iPhone thinks it knows how the user intends to complete a correctly spelled word.
• Master the double-tap
  Double tap can also help a user to read web pages more easily, manage photos and do much more.
  Here’s how it works. The user has to double tap on a column of text on a website, to zoom onto it and the iPhone will automatically enlarge the view to fit the width of the screen. Double-tapping the screen again helps to zoom back out.
  Similarly double-tapping on a picture will automatically focus in to show a close up. This double tap feature can also be used to zoom in/out on photos in the iPhone’s Photo app and toggle between full screen and letterbox mode during video playback.
  The double tap shortcut is also a simple way to zoom in and out of Google Maps in iPhone.
• Easy edit
  This is another handy tip. Ever wondered how would you correct an error in a sentence in a phone that lacks cursor keys? Apple iPhone makes it easy.
  The user just needs to hold his fingertip down anywhere on the text and a magnified circle appears. Then without lifting his finger he just needs to drag it anywhere in the text and the insertion point moves along with it. Then just release where he wants the word phrase to be added. In the same way any deletion can be done.
• Browsing shortcuts
  This is a part of the hidden tricks that the phone can do. To do this, a user needs to hold down the .com button to select the ending of the domain name after typing the websites URL in the space bar. The usual endings such as, “.com,” “.net,” “.edu” and “.org” will then be displayed. All the user needs to do is tab on any of the endings to insert them to the address bar.
  Similarly, when the user needs to compose a mail, he just needs to hold down the period key to select the endings of the email address. This will again display all the endings such as, “.com,” “.net,” “.edu” and “.org.” Just tab to insert any of the endings.

TN’s slimming tea, a global hit

Want to lose those extra kilos? Try the slimming tea brewed in the rural backyards of Tamil Nadu — Tinneveli senna tea. People across the world, from Japan to the US, have taken to drinking tea from Tamil Nadu before dinner to shed weight or relieve constipation.

The leaves, pods and extracts of the senna herb from the arid regions of Tuticorin and Virudhunagar in southern Tamil Nadu are sitting on shelves of stores in Hong Kong, Tokyo, California and Berlin. “Senna tea bags are a big hit abroad. And the market is set to grow further,” says B S Sajwan, chief executive officer of the Union health ministry’s national medicinal plants board. Last year, over 20,000 metric tonnes of senna was exported from Tamil Nadu for $1 to $1.5 a kg. In the global market, it sells for at least $3 a kg.

“The sennocide content in senna tea is believed to have potential to remove the toxins in the body and help complete the metabolic cycle resulting in weight control,” says Ranjit Puranik, general secretary of the Ayurvedic drug manufacturers’ association.

Tamil Nadu’s tryst with the world pharmaceutical industry began over a century ago, courtesy senna, called ‘avuri’ or ‘nilavagarai’ locally. Leading drug companies use the leaves of Cassia angustifolia in the manufacture of laxatives. Senna is grown in the dry fields close to Tirunelveli, and came to be known as “Tinneveli senna”. It is the second largest herb to be exported after Isabgol, largely grown in Gujarat.

TN’s speciality is in the farmers’ deft snipping of leaves. “Our farmers have a special knack of hand-plucking leaves. In other places, farmers pull off the branches, resulting in loss of quality,” says Rajasankara Lingam, a senna exporter from Tuticorin.

With senna exports from Tamil Nadu soaring beyond Rs 50 crore, Rajasthan and Gujarat have also begun to grow the herb.

Airbus mulls 1,000-passenger plane

Two airlines, Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Air France-KLM SA, are interested in the extended version of the A380

Berlin: Airbus SAS, the world’s largest plane maker, is considering an extended 1,000-passenger version of the A380 aircraft, Louis Gallois, chief executive of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), has said.

Two airlines, Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Air France-KLM SA, were interested in the extende d version of the A380, Gallois told the German newspaper Saechsische Zeitung in an interview to be published Friday.

EADS is the parent company of Airbus SAS.

The A380, the world’s largest commercial aircraft even in its current form, can carry 555 passengers. It entered service in October last year after a two-year delay that severely hit Airbus profits and forced a major restructuring of the company.

Gallois said Airbus had planned the extended version right from the start.

According to information received by DPA, a decision on building the huge aircraft is to be taken only in 2010.

Regarding production delays on the A380, Gallois expressed confidence that the current timetable could be adhered to.

At the end of July, Airbus chief executive Thomas Enders said the aircraft’s problems would be over only once series production was running sm oothly at a considerably higher rate than the current one per month.

Gallois said Airbus would extend its plant at Dresden in the eastern German state of Saxony if it won a contract for tanker aircraft with the US Air Force that is currently under consideration.

The European aircraft maker is competing with Boeing Company for the contract which is worth billions of dollars.

iPhone flaw exposes private data

A security flaw in Apple Inc’s iPhone allows unauthorized users to gain easy access to private contacts and e-mails even when the device is locked, but the company said a fix is on the way.

Popular technology blog Gizmodo and an online forum run by the Mac Rumors site showed that it took only three taps to gain access to locked iPhones, which run the latest 2.02 iPhone software.

A spokeswoman said in an e-mail that Apple was aware of the problem and was readying a software update to fix it. In the meantime, she recommended users set the iPhone’s “Home” button to open up the phone’s iPod music collection rather than the phone’s “Favorites” menu.

The spokeswoman did not say when the software update would be made available. The flaw could be seen as a momentary setback in Apple’s ambitious plans to compete against Research In Motion, whose BlackBerry smartphone has become a standard issue device in corporate businesses around the globe.

Earlier in August, technology research firm Gartner issued a report that said iPhone’s software had met Gartner’s minimum requirements for business support, although some issues persisted. The author of the report, Ken Dulaney, was not immediately reachable.

Last week, Apple released a software update for the iPhone that reportedly helped fix problems connecting to faster third-generation (3G) wireless networks, after receiving a flurry of online complaints from customers around the world.

Apple, which started selling the new 3G iPhone on July 11, has said it expected to sell 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008.

Clean power need gives India’s solar mission a boost

The government is looking to get India’s ‘national solar mission’ underway with steps to set up research-industry partnerships, tariff structures and tax breaks to citizens aimed at promoting competitiveness and even seed ‘solar valleys’ for largescale energy generation.

The recognition that solar power represents a huge untapped potential for relatively clean energy saw PMO call a meeting on Tuesday to discuss what could be done to make this form of energy more viable in the Indian context where there is an abundance of sunshine through most of the year.

A part of the national Climate Change policy, the solar mission targets 10,000MW installed capacity by 2020, a figure which officials hope can be further augmented. The mission would focus on reducing the high costs of photovoltaic cells, which have to be replaced regularly and make it prohibitive for individuals and corporates to consider solar power.

The agenda to promote solar power includes framing banking policy for priority sector lending for households who adopt such options. Targets could also be set for new concerns drawing more than 500 KW to ensure a certain percentage is set aside for solar generation and may be mandated in select public utilities and p rivate services through legislation.

The possibility of taking a page out of the Silicon revolution by planning ‘solar valleys’ is quite beguiling even though it sounds futuristic. These special zones would be a confluence of research and industry and are part of the government’s efforts to achieve “grid parity” by 2017 and will require big funding — which the government feels can be attracted — to make the scheme workable.

The big challenge before the mission remains ensuring subsidies do not kill the appetite for competition since maintenance and replacement of batteries are an expensive option for users.

This needs the attention of researchers for developing new materials and processes to keep sight of the government’s objective of ensuring that subsidies are “incentives for delivery” and not “props” that ind ustry and users get habituated to.

You may soon be paying taxes through ATMs

The department is also planning a text message service for disseminating information to taxpayers

New Delhi: The Income Tax Department is planning to allow tax payment through ATMs, set up call centres to deal with queries and automatically update the address for Permanent Account Number by copying it from the tax-return filed.

The department will also set up a Directorate of Taxpayer Services to address taxpayer grievances and educate them on tax matters.

Taxpayers will be able to receive refunds faster after the department implements a technology that will automatically match returns with the taxes paid.

The department is also planning a text message service for disseminating information to taxpayers.

Taxpayers can also look forward to better services when they visit tax offices. To improve its image, the department has started improving the basic infrastructure in its offices and will provide facilities like waiting area, drinking water and hygienic toilets.

Some of the other taxpayer service s proposed include additional channel for filing tax returns at facilitation centres and effective recording and tracking of all taxpayer communications.

These measures are part of business process re-engineering project of the department, which Finance Minister P Chidambaram had announced in Budget 2006-07.

Direct tax collections rose by nearly 36 per cent to Rs 3,14,568 crore in 2007-08. The department has fixed a target of Rs 3,95,000 crore for 2008-09.

To augment revenue collection, the department plans to use third party and tax deducted at source (TDS) data to detect those who have not filed their returns.

Among other steps, the department also plans to send pre-filled returns to the taxpayer in cases of clear and apparent mismatch of information given in the return and that available with the department, to be settled by accepting payment of tax plus penal amount.

Similarly, for a limited number of cases falling in a small band below the risk score at which cases are selected for scrutiny, total wealth statement will be called for the record.

After Nano comes world’s most expensive One-77

Prized at 1.3mn euros, the first batch of cars is expected to be delivered to customers at the end of 2009.

Gaydon (Britain): Aston Martin has released scant details and sketches of its new super car codenamed One-77 that will sell for at least 1.3 million euros excluding tax ($1.95 million), making it the most expensive car on the market.

Each of the 77 limited edition Aston Martins will be tailored to the individual buyer and the engineers and designers will work out the exact specifications with the future owner.

The car’s aluminium body will be handcrafted and the owner will even be able to choose their own exhaust note. The V12 engine has a top speed of 354 km/h accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, producing around 700 hp.

Aston Martin has identified around 500 potential customers, offering to bring a demonstration model to wherever the customer wishes to see it – either at a reclusive villa, luxury hotel or yacht club. The first cars are expected to be delivered to customers at the end of 2009.
